Faithful Always

Hello all!

I was having a conversation with my parents earlier this week. I sent them a text that read "You know where I belong?...I belong on the red carpet interviewing celebs and/or on a field/court interviewing athletes!" My mom's response was "Oh yea girl, that's totally you". Ok, typical mom......daddy's response was "So what are you going to do to make that happen?" Ok, typical dad response.  At first I had a ::blank stare:: and then I told them both that I would pray about the situation. Yes, I would LOOOOOOOOVE to go to work and interview people on a daily basis, but if that's not in God's plan I'd rather not. My dad was like well, what if God sends you some place you don't want to go? Good question daddy, but wouldn't that be called "disobedient?" If we truly commit ourselves to the Lord and TRUST in His plan, we should be willing to go anywhere He sends us.  He never promised the spiritual journey would be easy, but I'm 110% sure it's worth it.  So this had me thinking...I'm like hmmm what if God calls me to be a lawyer, an astronaut, a police(wo)man, or something totally out of my character.

"Before I formed you in the womb I knew you, before you were born I set you apart; I appointed you as a prophet to the nations." Jeremiah 1:5

I began to meditate on this verse.  If God knew me before I was formed in the womb then He must know everything about me. This means He knows what I like/dislike, He knows my personality, and He will chose the career that's perfect for me! Whew, that's so good to know because had I not , I'd probably freak out!  I said alllllll that to say this....trust God. Trust that He knows what's perfect for your life.  If you ask Him to show you the way, be prepared to go wherever it may take you. The road may be long and bumpy but keep the end (eternity) in mind. Remember that this life we live is only temporary; think of it as a hotel...you can't stay here forever! Live with the end in mind!

Until then,
XOXO

Canada, eh?

Hey y'all! I just realized I never blogged about my trip to Canada. The initial plan was for Keitra and I to blog the entire way, since we DROVE. Yes, you heard right...we drove all the way to Canada..10 people!  I love my family!  So when they first said we would be driving to Canada, Keitra and I were like uhhhh we will just get plane tickets.  But after mom assured us that this would be a great family bonding experience, we gave in.  Our goal was to stop along the way to shorten the trip, and to visit states we have never visited.

Our first stop was in Ohio.  We stayed in Ohio for the night so our driver(s) could rest their sweet little eyes.

After dinner and breakfast the following morning, we continued on our journey.  We actually had to pull over in Pennsylvania because I had a phone interview (haha).  Between Keitra, my cousin Tila, and myself, we were thoroughly entertained!  After a few more hours we rolled into New York!

If you were good in geography (cough cough) you know that Niagra Falls, Canada is riiiiiiiiight by the state of New York. Soooo, taaa daaaaah we made it to CANADA!!!

I can't even begin to describe the view of the falls.  It was absolutely breathtaking!  The American side was beautiful, but the Canadian side was absolutely stunning! It was definitely scary at times. We took a "Journey Behind the Falls". It seemed like a modern underground railroad.  I mean seriously it seemed to be underwater. I can't hardly explain, but you get my drift.  Take a look below...
Snapping pictures before we got wet!

Even my 81 yr old mamaw had a blast #deuces
This view was terrifying yet amazing!

There is no way I could fit our entire vacation into this post, and I know the pictures do no justice but just now we had a BLAST. We were there for a week and enjoyed every.single.minute. of it!  I'm so thankful for my family. They have always given us the opportunity to travel, see new places, and go on new adventures...such a blessing! I'll leave you with a few pictures!! Enjoy!

Something to think about...

Good Morning!
I don't have much to talk about today! Nope, I'm not sick (haha), sometimes I just get tired of talking....and thinking.
So, I'll leave you all with a few thoughts to get you through the week. Most of us talk about how good God is, but do we really take the time to reflect on ALL the things he's done for us? I saw a sign the other day and it read:
"What if you woke up today with only the things you thanked God for yesterday?"
Hmmm interesting!  Sure, we thank Him for his grace and mercy, for allowing us to see another day, etc. but do we thank Him for the small things?  I have been reading The Purpose Driven Life.  Yes, I understand many of you read this book a few years ago...don't judge me for just now tuning in.  Anyway, I absolutely LOVE this book! It gives you something to think about every.single.day. I try to keep my highlighting to a minimum, but that never works.  Here are some questions/thoughts to ponder on. Enjoy :)

  • "Nothing in your life is arbitrary. It is all for purpose"
  • I know that God uniquely created me.  What areas of my personality, background & physical appearance am I struggling to accept?
  • "God specializes in giving people a fresh start"
  • "You're only hurting yourself with your bitterness"
  • To worry yourself with resentment would be a foolish, senseless thing to do"
  • "Possessions only provide temporary happiness" LOVE this!
  • "When you fully comprehend that there is more to life than just here and now, & you realize that life is just preparation for eternity, you begin to live differently"
  • "When you use your life for God's glory, everything you do can become an act of worship"
Have a great week!
