Soooo it's been a minute since I gave you all updates! I have a lot to talk about today, but I'll try to keep it short. I'll start with my weekend. It was absolutely amazing! Friday, I went to watch Coach Sanders lead the Noxubee Tigers to a victory against the West Point Green Waves! It was such a good game! Saturday we hung out with his parents and went to see Columbiana. (I wanted to see Contagion but Joey thinks he's going to catch the disease if we see it. Actually, I was itching during the preview; we're pitiful!) Sunday we went to church and then we had to say our good-byes :(
Today, along with many Americans, I anxiously waited to see the fate of Troy Davis. If you do not know who this is, please GOOGLE right now (I'm not going to explain the entire story). After deliberation, the Georgia Board of Pardons and Paroles denied Davis' clemency. He is set to be executed Wednesday (tomorrow) at 7p.m. They have no DNA from the crime linked to Davis, no forensic evidence, and no weapon was found....YET, he was convicted and sentenced to death. 7 out of the 9 witnesses have recanted their statements, saying they were put under immense pressure from local authorities. Did he commit the crime? I do not know. Is there reasonable doubt? Absolutely.
On the other hand, we have Casey Anthony who had evidence on top of evidence yet, she is free to walk the streets of Florida. And people wonder why we as Americans have lost faith in our judicial system.
I could go on and on but my rant on a blog will not save this man's life.
My heart aches for both families. Both lost a son; one to a grave, and one to prison. I pray that one day, justice will be served.
**I would love to hear your comments regarding this subject**
Until next time
XOXO,
t.RAE :)
