Sooo as promised, I'm going tell you guys alllllll about my first day at Charming Charlie (please don't add the 's'). I was going to update you last night, but by the time I got home....all I wanted was my bed! They wore a sistah out!
First things first
1) You have to carry this clear purse!
No stealing at CC! It's hideous yet hilarious! Anyway, after working 5 hours alongside someone who started every sentence with "my boyfriend" I decided to give y'all a break. I know I talk about Joey ALOT....and I don't wanna be "that girl" so I'll give it a break.............................who am I kidding? Joey Joey Joey I'm pretty sure I couldn't go a week without saying something about him on here! HA
Ok, back to business. The night actually went well. But it wouldn't be me if there weren't any embarrasing moments.
Moment #1: I have abnormally tiny ears. I don't know who these headsets are made for, but they are certainly not made for people with small ears. While trying to remain a "cheerful charmer" and greet customers, I felt retarded several times because my ear piece would fall out of my ear. So it was like "Welcome to Charming Charlie ::ear piece falls out:: have you...::customer keeps walking::" Of course Operation: Trynottolooklikethenewgirl.....fail! BUT, they are going to find me a headset made specifically for people with tiny ears!
Moment #2: I'll spare y'all the details of arranging racks, etc because it is very confusing. I mean, it's not rocket science, but sometimes I wonder if I were born blonde?! After neatly straightening the racks (the way we are suppose to) I had a girl training me to check & make sure I did everything correctly. She went over to one rack and said "Oh, you haven't done this one yet have you?" Ehhhh, actually I have! I was so shame I just played it off and said "Oh that one?..No, I haven't made it over there yet!"
After an eventful night, I was extremely tired and sad because I missed by 10pm bedtime...BUT I had a great night! All went well..........until closing. Maniac Miranda "forgot" how to close the registers and caused us to stay an extra hour while she fixed the problem. I didn't get home until a little after 11pm. Now, I'm one to talk, but by the time I got in my truck I just wanted to go.to.bed.
So, if I had to describe my first day in one word.......EVENTFUL! But the highlight of my night was a hs senior coming in and asking me to help her find a homecoming outfit for the peprally. Both her and her mom were in a frenzy. I got her a dress, shoes, & jewelry. Headed out the door she said "Thank you so much for helping me." It brought back memories of my homecoming experience at STATE. I remember being in a panic and needing an outfit for pictures. Someone (shots out to Libby Story) took the time to make sure I looked nice, and for that I was grateful. At the end of the day, seeing a smile is really all that matters:)
Oh, and while I have your attention...let me address one more issue. Yesterday I got back to my office and asked a male co worker to help get a few items out of my trunk. Keep in mind a had a few extra boxes and "junk" in there. While walking out (him behind me) I said "pay no attention to the junk in my trunk". Once I realized what I said I was like ha.ha....no pun intended. His face was as red as an apple. I stood there looking out the corner of my eye. We walked back in the building in silence.
The End.
Until next time
XOXO
